My day has been pretty good:)

Exercise:

Got out for a run at Burnaby Lake this morning. It was supposed to be forty five minutes, but was only forty. I was actually lucky to get that much time in as it was super windy here this morning. We weren’t sure how safe it really was to run through the forest, and we actually saw a tree fall down as we were getting into our cars to leave! I really want to be able to run around this entire lake one day!!!

I didn’t get a chance to workout again today as I’m actually still at my brother’s place hanging out with my nephew and fur nephew. I didn’t know I would be here this long, but I have to enjoy it as I know the day will come when he won’t want me hanging out with him:(

Knitting:

I’m down to the row where I get to divide for the body and sleeves. It seems that my nephew is okay with me being on my phone, but not knitting so that might be it for tonight:(

Eating:

I tried the frozen burrito for lunch that I bought last Monday. I had never seen one that was gluten free and dairy free. I have to say that I wasn’t super impressed. It didn’t have a lot of taste:(. Maybe salsa and sour cream would have helped. I was thinking it would be nice to have some meals ready in the freezer, but if this is what they are like, I think I’ll just make some from scratch and put them in my freezer.

Movies:

I caved and watched more Hallmark Christmas movies today. I watched Enchanted Christmas which might win the award for worst acting yet!! I also watched Miss Christmas which was very cute!

Family:

I’ve been hanging out with my nephew and Mr. Banks since 1pm as my brother and sister in law are at a funeral. They’re representing the family and I’m hanging out. I definitely got the better end of the deal!

We went to Wendy’s for lunch. I watched him eat junk food and now for dinner he’s trying to make me feel guilty for not taking him for pizza or subway. I already feel bad taking him for junk food once!

I should have arranged something for us to do, like a movie, but I’ll remember that for next time.

Well I guess that’s it for my quiet Sunday!

Have fun!

AJ

  1. That sounds like a great day. I don’t eat much frozen foods since it’s usually packed with sodium. I like the idea of making yourself some and putting them in there though!

    1. I can’t eat a lot of processed frozen foods because of my allergies so most of the time I try to just make sure that I put leftovers in the freezer for those nights I’m late.

      1. That’s a good idea too. I may have to start stealing ideas. I don’t need gluten free but I should do dairy free since I’m lactose intolerant anyway. 😀

  2. Oh, that’s a beautiful trail you’ve there! Fallen trees are a very sad sight though. Sometime ago, we had very strong winds here and a LOT of trees fell. The saddest part though was my neighbor deciding to cut down a really old big red-bead tree in her front yard as she was scared it might not survive another one of those windy days.

    1. We’ve had a few really bad wind storms hat have brought down lots of trees too! We had a tree fall on a house last year and kill a woman so I’m a little more Leary than I used to be

  3. Trees falling is one of the scariest things I’ve ever encountered! Looks like Banks is doing his best to get you wrapped around his paw! 😉 I can’t imagine surviving. Two rounds of junk food….kids have iron stomachs! 😄

    1. Yes we had a tree across from school land on a house and kill a woman in her bed so I’m a little more wary now than I used to be.
Yup Banks definitely has me wrapped around his paw!
I couldn’t even eat during the first round!!

  4. Nieces and nephews are always great at making us feel guilty! Lol! Although, I feel exhausted after, it’s always fun though! And I know I’ve had a gluten free/vegetarian burrito before… I think. It was Amy’s. It definitely needed salsa, hot sauce and sour cream… A triple threat. Lol!

  5. My Aunt used to feed my brother and I junk food. I can’t remember her giving us many fruits or vegetables. But I think we were her excuse to eat junk. 😂

  6. What a kwinky dink! I was watching the Vikings stink it up at my brothers house earlier, and he went to Wendy’s (we eat on opposite ends of the food spectrum). Sadly I got a small vanilla frosty (but somewhat evened it out with asparagus later). The dog is way too cute, he obviously knows all the shifty eyed tricks for attention!

  7. Way to go on your run!
To get some meals in the freezer, you can double a recipe you’re making and put one in the freezer for later. Another thing I’ll do is freeze leftovers. Alex and I will typically eat leftovers for a day or two and then I put the rest in the freezer. It makes easy meals in a pinch.

    1. Yup I definitely got the better end of the deal. It helps that my brother and sister in law aren’t shy like me! I’m hoping to get a good run in too!

  8. What a handsome dog; sorry about the loss of a loved one. Forty minutes is good. The first half an hour, your body warms up and then burns calories. After that first 30 minutes, it’s all revving up your metabolism.

  9. That looks like a beautiful place for a run. That is a bummer about your burrito. Burritos actually freeze really well if you want to try that. I will sometimes make a bunch of breakfast burritos and freeze them to have for weekday breakfasts.

  10. I’ve honestly mostly struck out with frozen burritos in the past. I think a big part of it is that they’re pretty dry and missing all the ‘gloopy’ bits that make them so tasty. So, fat pretty much, haha.

  11. aw . Hooray for pup time. Sorry for the loss. We had someone die under a tree fall in our town in Illinois. Scared me to death and we don’t forest it when the winds are high

  12. Lol you made me laugh so hard with the ‘worst acting’ for the Christmas movie 😂 I don’t like frozen food in general, I think you’d be better off making your own and then freezing them, at least they will be yummy and you know what goes in them.
