I didn’t get much done so I don’t get why I’m so tired!

Tea:

My tea today was David’s Tea: Mother’s Little Helper. I have to admit that it is not my favourite!Β  So far, in this 8 Nights of Tea set, I have only liked one:(

A colleague rescued me with a tea bag she likes. It was delicious!!! I would totally recommend it!

Teaching:

Today was better. We finished up our gymnastics, without any falls. We also completed our visualizing activity from yesterday along with a community ABC mini book. In the afternoon we revisited hibernation in Art by making these:

We talked about using different medium in art and looked at examples. I think we did pretty good for only having a picture to go from since I couldn’t find any directions.

The only incident I had was when bad breath boy told me he was smarter than me this morning. Some children….πŸ™„

Exercise:

I met up with lyndsay after school for a workout. We did 25 minutes on the treadmill and then hit the floor for squats, overhead triceps extensions and knee tucks. It was like a ladder- first round one set of 8 each, second round two sets of 8, etc. We then did v ups, static lunges with weights and hamstring curls using the stability ball. The same ladder set up but with a minute on the elliptical between sets. The coolest thing about my workout today was that I had to up the weights. I ended up using twenty pound weights for the squats and lunges:) It’s nice to see progress:)

Reading:

Just a bit of Ready Player One on my lunch hour:). I highly recommend reading on your lunch hour. It’s such a nice, calming twenty minute break:)

I read a blog post by Perfectly Tolerable this morning that talked about Goodreads stats so then of course I had to go have a look. I never knew that Goodreads could tell you what author you’ve read the most of!!! So cool! Then of course I started wondering how I could change those stats. I need to get two short books read quickly so it will quit telling me I’m behind on my goal!

Knitting:

Tonight was knit night and I got another twenty one rows on my sweater finished and that used up one ball of yarn. LOL I’m already starting to think of what my next project will be.

I did look up how to determine the weight of yarns do i will hopefully get going on that. Not a super busy or productive day, but I sure am tired so I’m off to bed.

Have fun!

  1. I’ve had to do the mystery yarn round a pencil trick many times πŸ˜‚ If I read on my lunch hour I don’t think I’d want to go back to class lol. You’re very motivated!

    1. I have a ton of yarn I inherited that doesn’t have labels so I’m thinking I’d be able to use it better if I knew it’s weight!
It is tough to go back, but I can’t ignore the bell:(

  2. Reg tea, a year ago I stumbled upon a Sri Lankan brand named “Mlesna” {https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mlesna}. It wasn’t too expensive and so I gave their green tea a try, and I have never bought another brand since. We do get a variety of imported teas here, but they are quite expensive, and I don’t like spending a lot on tea and coffee. Maybe you can try the Mlesna range of teas if they are available in your country.

    I like that bad-breath boy! πŸ˜€

    1. Oh I’ll have to keep an eye open for that tea! Right now I’m just trying to empty out my tea cupboard- it’s insane!!!
      He’s driving me nuts!

  3. I’ve always seen that tea at Trader Joe’s but never gotten it. I’ll have to see if my store has it in stock next time I go!
Also I love when a kid tells me they’re smarter lol. You have to admire the confidence they have!

    1. It was super good tea!!!
I have to admit that if it wasn’t that kid, I probably would have laughed, but we’ve had big problems with him being rude to teachers, yelling at teachers, etc so I had to shut it down.

  4. I bet you wanted to tell that boy that if he was smarter than you he’d remember to brush his teeth before school. Some days as a teacher you laugh at those types of comments and some days you bite your tongue because you can’t say what you want to say.I never had time to read on my lunch break. I always felt like I barely had time to eat after I got the kids through the line, got my lunch, check e-mails and made sure I was ready for the next steps of the day. But, I bet if I had read I would have felt less frazzled at lunch time

    1. I had to speak sharply to him as we’ve had some problems with him yelling at other teachers.
It has definitely been an adjustment, but I’m loving my new reading routine. It calms me:)

  5. Well, the artwork is great, and I would be tempted to fire back at BB Boy that smart people brush their teeth every morning, and if I were really inappropriate, I would add so they don’t fall out. Bad, bad, bad! πŸ˜‰ sometimes, boys need it straight, not sugar coated, but 1st grade might still be a little early for that! Girl#2 used to tell her 8th grade Latin to stop acting like a scrub because he was better than that. 😳
That yarn trick is pretty cool. My latest listen is Lord of the Flies….a book to cut fabric by!

    1. I’m pretty blunt with my students and he definitely got a talking to!
Oh I hope the story is keeping you entertained as you cut! I read that many years ago so don’t really remember details, but I do remember that a lot seemed to happen.

  6. From Target I bought two cylinders of Be Well Teas: get matcha & get some zzz’s. I also bought Harney & Sons Fine Teas (Matcha iri Genmaicha) to try. *insert thumbs up here* I like them all. The HT tea comes in a cute, rectangular tin.
