Book Tag: I dare you!

Thank you to The Cozy Pages for this tag and I’m just sorry it has taken me so long to get around to doing it! The first world problem of not having a computer at home,LOL

RULES:

  • You must be honest, friends don’t lie.
  • You must answer all of the questions.
  • You must tag at least 4 people.

  1. What book has been on your shelf the longest?
  • The Encyclopedia of Greek Mythology. I have always loved history and in junior high I got hooked on mythology and bought this book for myself. Even then, I didn’t buy many books, so I have hung onto this one for a very long time!
  1. What is your current read, your last read, and the book you’ll read next?
  • Current read: The Hookup by Erin McCarthy and The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton and Moo by Sharon Creech. I so dislike this situation!!
  • Last read: Likes Cats and Dogs by  Alexis Stanton
  • Next read: no idea, LOL trying not to put pressure on myself!
  1. What book did everyone like, but you hated?
  • You by Carolyn Kepnes
  1. What book do you keep telling yourself you’ll read, but you probably won’t?
  • War and Peace – I feel like I should read it, but it hasn’t happened yet.
  1. What book are you saving for your retirement?
  • Gone With the Wind – we tried it a few years ago for bookclub and none of us got anywhere near finished. It’s just too long and I could read so many other books while doing that!
  1. Last page: read it first or wait til’ the end?
  • If I am having trouble getting into a book or keeping with the book, I will flip and read the last page to see if I want to keep going with it. If it’s happy it works like a carrot for me:)
  1. Acknowledgement: waste of paper and ink, or interesting aside?
  • LOL my mom reads every word in every book – I just read the main attraction:)
  1. Which book character would you switch places with?
  • I always thought I wanted to be Jane in Pride and Prejudice or Anne in Anne of Green Gables, but I really like indoor plumbing and I’m pretty outspoken so would probably be in trouble all the time.  Now I’ve moved to thinking I should have been born in the 1950s, but I can’t think of a book that was  set then.
  1. Do you have a book that reminds you of something specific in your life? (Place, time, person?)
  • Anne of Green Gables always reminds me of school in grade four. I had an awesome teacher and he never called me on the fact that I read the entire series under my desk while I was supposed to be paying attention and listening,LOL
  1. Name a book that you acquired in an interesting way.
  • The most interesting way I get books is through the give and take at my parent’s RV park in the winter and marina in the summer. I always take lots to leave and pick up some to enjoy.
  1. Have you ever given a book away for a special reason to a special person?
  • I don’t buy books unless they are for a gift. I often give books for presents, but I just pick one at Chapters:)
  1. Which book has been with you most places?
  • My brothers bought me a Kobo about five years ago so I would quit carrying a huge bag of books with me wherever I go. LOL I would have one change of clothes for two weeks and the rest of the bag would be all books!
  1. Any “required reading” that you hated in high school that wasn’t so bad two years later?
  • No I was a complete nerd and actually asked my English 9 teachers for lists of books I should read. I should probably dig that list out!
  1. Used or brand new?
  • I love how new books smell and feel, but they aren’t in the budget so it’s always used.
  1. Have you ever read a Dan Brown book?
  • Yes I’ve read the DaVinci Code.
  1. Have you ever seen a movie that you liked more than the book?
  • No because my imagination is way better than Hollywood’s!!! LOL
  1. Have you ever read a book that made you hungry, cookbooks included?
  • Oh yes! I love the Hannah Swenson murder mystery series by Joanne Fluke. She includes recipes and I always end up making most of the them by the end of the book.
  1. Who is the person whose book advice you’ll always take.
  • I’ll read anything so if someone gives me a book – I’ll read it. Otherwise, it’s whatever I find at the library.
  1. Is there a book outside of your comfort zone that you ended up loving?
  • Treasure Island. I listened to it, but was not expecting to actually like it.

I tag: Anyone who wants to try this out:)

  1. Happy you got a chance to do the tag. I still have a few to get through 😄
Very fun answers. I love the give and take ‘bookshopping’ that you do. It’s a really nice way to share books around.

    1. Thank you for nominating me. I found a whole new section of WordPress today and they were sitting there waiting for me!
I love the give and take – it’s neat to see what others buy!

  2. Great answers! I think it’s interesting that you would want to be Jane in P&P. It’s not a typical answer but I completely understand the appeal! He’s so handsome and amiable! I’d say less drama, but she still gets the Bramalea with him leaving for London with no notice, but he’s still a good catch! 😍💖😄
