It was a lovely day 2 of my holidays and I accomplished something:)

Exercise:

I met up with Brenda and James for my usual Sunday run. They were both walking for various reasons, but I managed to get 4.75km in. I am definitely slower in the morning than I am on my afternoon runs, though I think it might be the lack of fuel- a spoonful of peanut butter as I go out the door isn’t the best, but I’m not willing to give up sleep!

I am right on track for my mileage for this month, though I am still hoping to make up some mileage for February too.

I also did an L workout this evening called Count it Out. I had to do 100 skips, then 90,80,70,60, and 50. Then:

3 sets of:

10 step up each leg, 10 sumo squats, 10 plank hip dips each side

3 sets of 30/20/10 of:

Squats, alternating reverse lunge, bicycle crunches

3 sets of:

20 Spider-Man crunches, 20 flutter crunches, 1 minute plank

I hadn’t realized I did very little exercise last week so that will need to change this week!

House:

I finished my sweater/ linen closet and managed to get rid of 22 sweaters! I always have a difficult time getting rid of sweaters because I’m always cold! My mom has some space bags and they really helped!

I also got my house changed from the cranberry accents I use in the Fall/Winter to the teal I use in Spring/ Summer. With three sunshine the last couple of days, it is actually feeling like Spring:)

Shopping:

I dragged my mom along for some shopping this afternoon. I’ve been hankering to sew for a while and realized I’d like to make my close friend a small quilt for her two boys. I’m hoping for something bird themed as both her and husband have doctorates in biology in the area of birds. Unfortunately I haven’t seen anything that inspired me yet:(

We also hit Lee Vallley which is always fun! Please tell me I’m not the only one who has a Lee Valley list on their phone? I managed to only buy two things- a new carbiner for my keys and a heavy duty stapler for work. Of course, I added five other things to my list🤣

We also stopped at Bed, Bath and Beyond. This store drives me nuts as they never have prices on anything and whatever I am looking for is always on the opposite side of the store from where I start! I got myself a couple more space bags and a new non-stick rolling pin. I’ll do a review of the rolling pin once I use it. I am loving the space bags though as I have already gained two shelves that were full before!!!

Knitting:

I am still working on the yoked sweater. I have finished the 15″ of stockinette and now have to start the sleeves. I thought I got to start the fun stuff after the 15″ and have to admit I’ve spent the evening reading rather than working on sleeves, since I was disappointed to hear I had to do them first. Of course, if I had thought about it I would have realized I had the boring sleeves to do first!

Reading:

I had another book come through on Libby so am trying to finish the one I already had first. It’s called Good Luck With That by Kristan Higgins. I always love Kristan’s books and so wanted to read this one. It is about two friends fulfilling a teenage wishlist after the death of their other friend. I have to admit that so far it’s not my favourite book because I’m having difficulty keeping the characters straight. Plus the whole book is about being fat which is a tough subject for me.

Well, I’m off to do laundry (haha). I’m really just going to read on the couch while the machine does the laundry🤣

Have fun!

  1. One thing I do before morning runs so I don’t have to sacrifice sleep is to prep half a peanut butter sandwich before I run. This way it’s in a baggy all set for me to munch on while I lace up my shoes and stretch.

There’s something so satisfying about cleaning out areas of your house. That’s something I’m going to be working on fairly regularly and while I’m kind of dreading it, I’m also kind of excited.

    1. I just find I have to eat two hours earlier if I’m going to have a meal so for now I’m sticking with Pb:)
I love organizing so it’s not a chore for me. It helps that my sweaters look so pretty in the cupboard now that I want to wear them all!

      1. Have you tried a cracker or two with pb? Sometimes that’s enough for me on shorter runs without upsetting my stomach.
That’s how I feel about the way I recently started folding my clothes. It’s so nice to see everything! I just want/need to clean out basically the whole apartment and some parts are way less fun than others.

      2. Hmmm I’ll try that as my mom brought me back some graham crackers from the states that I can eat!
I love organizing! I’ve been in to look at my sweater cupboard and my hall closet several times and wish the rest of my place looked as neat and organized as them. I just figure I’ll slowly chip away at it.

  2. There’s one big job finished! I have one more decrease in my cardi back, then another long stretch of stockinette. If I ever finish the back, I think the rest will keep me going!

  3. I had a nonstick rolling pin once and didn’t care for it so I got rid of it in favor of a wooden one. I just didn’t like how it rolled things out but I can’t really describe it better than that. Maybe your experience will be different from mine though.

    1. I’ve always had my dad’s marble rolling pin that I really like, but he finally noticed it was missing so I had to return it:(

  4. I’ve never had that many sweaters ! Hahahah . I rarely knit sweaters. I am so bad about stains, that I buy simple inexpensive tops and throw them out when they get ruined by bleach or sauce or the like!

    1. Haha! I was telling one of my running buddies about this and realized that I have almost no t shirts- about 3. I just have a ton of sweaters because I’m always freezing!

  5. I need to be more organized – did a little clutter control over the weekend and was going to do more and some housework yesterday and it was so beautiful out that I had to walk a lot, take pictures and write about it – oh well, it was a long Winter. That’s a beautiful sunrise AJ.

      1. I agree and I have to tell you I didn’t agonize making that decision – I said to myself “it is way too pretty out here to head home too soon!”
