It was a busy day even though it shouldn’t have been.

Teaching:

My students actually seemed better than they have been lately:)

We switched it up and did our math first thing this morning. We were learning how to measure round things with string and then measure the string. The students had a blast measuring body parts. One little guy said, “hey Miss B this sheet is super fun”. Amazing what string can do for a math lesson.

We didn’t quite finish our printing and we only started our Aurora Borealis Art, but we’ll try to finish up tomorrow.

Beauty:

Instead of doing jog a long today I ran down the hill for a Eyebrows and eyelashes appointment. I am incredibly blonde so every six weeks I have my eyelashes and eyebrows dyed. It makes such a difference to my face! It also saves me from having to put mascara on everyday!

Eating:

Uhh I started out good, but there’s always treats around the staff room and today our former secretary visited and brought stuff!

So I had a piece of crustless quiche, a berry, yogurt and granola parfait, fruit and cocoa dusted almonds for lunch, two slices cranberry cheese wrapped in 2 turkey slices, and I shared a half order of nachos with Lyndsay at the pub.

Not great, but at least less granola than yesterday!

Exercise:

Before heading off to trivia I got my 100 squats- 50 banded and 50 plié, 50 dips, 50 pushups, 25 crunches, 25 bicycles, 25 reverse crunches, 25 static crunch with scissor legs, 25 back lunges, 25 curtsy lunges and 25 side lunges done.

Trivia:

Lyndsay and I were the only ones there for the first game and 3/4 and we learned that we know nothing. I think we got about four answers out of 40! However, then we did the Kahoot round and we were 2nd!!🎉🎊 It was amazing and of course, ensured we will be back next week. The other round didn’t go great, but oh well. It was still fun:)

Some of the questions that I actually knew (though don’t ask me how🤣):

What kind of animal is Napoleon in the book Animal Farm by George Orwell?

What is The Barber of Seville?

What are the names of Paul McCartney’s wives?

What scale is used to measure an earthquake?

What continent is the Cape of Good Hope on?

Every once in a while I know something🤣

Have fun!

  1. Trivia- you are very good at this 🎊 You must be a popular teacher at the school. I remember that I always liked certain teachers who made the class fun and enjoyable. You’ve got beautiful eyelashes.

    1. oh I will definitely keep going. My table is unfortunately in the back corner so dont know that i will meet someone, but its fun:)

  2. it is always cool when the students enjoy what they are doing for the learning activity. they learn and retain so much more that way.

I would think you’d be able to avoid a lot of the stuff in the break room just due to concern of your allergies, but if people bring things in knowing your issues then it is harder to say no.

    1. Yes I am lucky that I can avoid a lot of the treats thankfully, but some very sweet people bring things I can eat which I have a hard time resisting. It seems like if there is food, I eat it

    1. That’s what my eyelashes and eyebrows are like. I’m horrible with mascara- either forget it or stick myself in the eye so I love the tinting. Takes about 15 minutes and lasts about 4-6 weeks.

      1. I hope it works out as it has made a big difference in my life and definitely makes a difference in my looks too

  3. I knew some, but not all of this week’s trivia … Bob Seger is a hometown boy, now in what he says is his final tour. I went to see him back in the early 70s – it happened to be one of the nights he was recording for the “Live Bullet” album.

      1. From what I’ve read about the stops he made to date he is as great as ever. He’ll put out a few dates for his concerts, no matter the venue, and then he’ll have to secure more dates, not necessarily back-to-back dates either, as they sell out so quickly. He has a following, like a club of sorts, and they usually buy most of the tickets before they even go on sale to the public. It’s been like that for years.

      2. I like his music too – I don’t know if he has anything new though. No, I won’t go to his concert this year and I strongly suspect he won’t retire after this one – he is like Elton John, often on a farewell tour!

  4. Sounds like a fun day! I enjoy the trivia bits you have been posting 🙂 Also, I have never heard of dyeing your eyelashes and eyebrows, but it definitely does make a difference. Lovely!

  5. Kids crack me up with what they find “Fun” ! haha. We did something similar with the students at Boys and Girls club with measuring- except not using a string, but a cut out ruler. They weren’t as thrilled. Must be something with the string! Haha. Your eyebrows look amazing!!! I have the opposite issue- my eyebrows are SO dark, sometimes they look mismatched to my lighter hair (although I guess it’s dyed so it’s my own fault haha).
