Wow this is going slow and yet my days go so fast!

Exercise:

I got out for a run quick when I looked out the window as it looked like rain. Sure enough, I got my 3.25km in, but it was raining the rest of the day. It was definitely not a fast run, but it was a bit more mileage.

This evening I did a quick countdown workout. I had plans to do go down and then back up, but I guess it wasn’t a working out day as I only went down.

I did: 100 skaters, 90 bicycle crunches, 80 squats, 70 crunches, 60 plié squats, 50 reverse crunches, 40 bridges, 30 dips, 20 froggers and 10 burpees.

Hopefully tomorrow is a better day!

Cooking:

After a quick stop at the bench at Starbucks to use their WiFi, I spent some time in the kitchen. You’ll hear about my yummy cooking on Saturday.

Knitting:

I have done a bit of my puzzle but have spent most of the day knitting. I started the Love Note sweater late this afternoon and love the combo of a turquoise yarn and white mohair, but have quickly come to the realization that I don’t have enough white mohair to finish and may not have enough of the turquoise either. I’m so disappointed as it looks amazing!! I’ll take a photo and add it to this post when I get on WiFi. I’m either going to do the turquoise alone or go back to the mauve.

Work:

We got an email today telling us that we will be assigned a time to come in next week to pick up a laptop and learn how to use Office 365 and we will then be expected to work from home. I have no idea how this is going to work, but I do see a phone call to the phone people in my future:(

Well, have fun!

  1. Hey AJ I am always amazed at your level of energy. How are things at your end?
Hope you get used to the working at home concept.
Please take care of yourself and your family ❤️

    1. It will be interesting. I was thinking this morning that it will be nice to be able to get a cup of tea or go to the bathroom whenever I want🤣

  2. Good luck with the working from home. There are I think a few blog posts from teachers over here doing it, so maybe that will help. And take care of yourself.

  3. Our teachers are doing that here, I hear that the band kids actually have something called musicology and each week they have to record their assignment and send it in through the portal. There are weekly lectures too. For first grade it would be much more difficult I think. But power point is pretty amazing, you can embed video from other places, and I think Outlook comes with a Skype feature that allows you to do video conferencing, just by sending a link. There are some pretty cool features.

    1. I will be hopefully learning all these tricks, but I think it may be a pretty steep learning curve at the start! I need to get some internet at home first

  4. Schools in the US are closed and they’re all doing online classes and assignments. It must be tough to figure out but it’s the right choice to keep everyone home to stay safe and healthy. That sounds like a good workout! Props to you for getting out. I’ve noticed my motivation to run doesn’t exist when it’s grey or raining out. But yesterday it was bright and sunny and I couldn’t get out the door fast enough

    1. I really seemed affected by the weather yesterday. Today it is pouring but I was meeting Dennis for a run so it was easier to get out. We will see how long this more motivation lasts for.
I know my learning curve for online teaching is going to be steep but I’m just trying not to think about it yet and enjoy the last few days of my spring break

      1. It’s so much harder to skip out on a run if you have plans to meet someone.
That’s a good idea! It’ll be a learning curve for everyone so just take it a day at a time once school starts back up after break 🙂

  5. We got Windows 10 a year ago, all the equipment, still not set up, but my laptop sits on the glass-top stove, dropped off last June! And I still have to learn Office 365 too. Good luck! I’ve been working from home since 2011 – not sure how it works out with kids though.

  6. The turquoise and white really do look gorgeous together – I hope it works out so you can use that combo 🙂 I have been working home for a couple of weeks now – it has a few drawbacks, but mostly it’s pretty cool!

    1. I am going with the cream and turquoise and when I run out of the cream I’ll switch to a light gray mohair to use with it for the ribbing at neck, sleeves and bottom.
Ok please tell me the drawbacks of working at home so I can be prepared

      1. They are actually not too bad. You need to remember to move around, but that won’t be a problem for you. It’s easy to get used to being *very* casually dressed all the time. Though that’s not really a problem when you are home so much as when we all have to go back to our workplaces for real later. It’s easy to let your job drift into your off time. Other than that it’s pretty great. You can run laundry during the day – like during a break or over lunch. Nobody can stop you from wearing sweatpants all day every day if you want to. Your lunch options open way up – no need to worry about portability. No commute time.
        You will be fine!

      2. I have a slight drawback in that my DH and I are both working from home, and sometimes I have to be teaching a class at the same time he has to be in a meeting. Because of where wifi is strongest in our house, we more or less have to be working in the same room. So that gets a little awkward, but that is minor.
