Wow three weeks can go fast!

Stitching:

This is a picture of the project that has set on my shelf for the past eleven years). This year I am determined and it at least sits on my coffee table now. This is where I was at three weeks ago.

I’m sorry for the poor lighting!

This is what it looks like now:

I changed how I did it this time. I didn’t keep track of my stitches but just made the goal to finish the basket before this update. I am counting this as success because the brown basket is actually finished- it is cut off by fabric, which I haven’t quite finished yet.

I have not yet made a goal for next time as it will either be to do some back stitching (my Leary favourite so I better not leave it all for the end) or to finish the curtain. This is another part I avoid as the colours are all so similar!

Be sure to check out everyone else’s progress! Welcome to our new member of the SAL- Sherrie! There are some amazing projects! If you’re interested in joining, just click on Avis’ link.

  1. I just love this piece AJ! If you can do the rest of the curtain it will be amazing. I couldn’t gut through all of that without some color to help me through! Well done this round, the basket is lovely and now you can go up, sideways or down!

    1. Yup the basket was fun because it had several colours and was a contained thing. I’m not sure I’ll be able to get through the remainder of the curtain in one go- might go crazy!

  2. Hi AJ! I am always amazed by people who can count and track stitches — I just try to get an area or a feature done. And sometimes I’m just glad to get anything done! Great job getting the basket completed, and good luck with the curtain!

  3. Wow! Great progress and well done reaching your goal of completing the basket! That’s a great way of working through it 😊

  4. looking lovely, AJ.
I agree that it’s a good idea to set yourself small goals for each time, rather than looking at the design as a whole.

  5. Hi AJ, caught up on your posts now. I know I always feel better when I’ve done my morning exercise. There is definitely a correlation for me, but we are all different. I enjoyed seeing your food…love to eat I guess is my reason for that!
Meanwhile, lovely basket has emerged. Keep at it …this is a pretty piece. But relax, no pressure! We can only enjoy the in house journey these strange days.

    1. Yes I think this week I will try the easy exercise every day and see if it helps!
Thanks- I’m just glad to see the basket appear!
