I am so glad this update landed at the start of my holiday so that I will have a clear picture of how much stitching I get done over the holiday:)
When I was a teenager I loved the work of Paula Vaughn and my grandma very kindly bought me the Paula Vaughn cross stitch book “A Quilt for All Seasons”. I immediately started on the January one. I’m not sure when exactly this was, but the project then languished on a shelf in my spare room for twelve years after I moved into my condo. Last year I heard about this SAL and decided it may help me actually get this project finished.
Here is where I was three weeks ago:

Here is where I am now:

I know it doesn’t look like much but with getting all the white at the bottom filled in, it felt like a lot. I think it’s because it finished off a whole area, but unfortunately not the whole first page
My goal is to finish the first page before the next update. I have holidays, I have an OTT light now and I have motivation because I am quite close. Let’s hope all goes according to plan!
Make sure you check out everyone’s projects as there are some truly outstanding projects being done and a very wide variety!
Avis, Claire, Gun, Carole, Constanze, Christina, Kathy, Margaret, Cindy, Heidi, Jackie, Sunny, Megan, Deborah, Mary Margaret, Renee, Carmela, Sharon, Daisy, Anne, Connie, Jenny, Laura, Cathie, Linda, Helen
It is always satisfying to get those broad areas finished. Enjoy your holidays. As a retired teacher I know how precious holidays are!
Oh I am hoping to enjoy every moment!
Your progress gets you closer to a page completion! Great job 😊
Yes I am feeling like I might actually make it to the end of page one now:)
Well done, I abet you make it to the end of the page!
I hope so! Maybe 15 minutes a day?
I used to stitch one thread at lunch time, and I was amazed at how much I got done, by just committing to one thread.
Ok that is a good idea!
here’s to hoping to find lots of time for more progress ^^ Enjoy your holidays!
I hope so too!
White isn´t the funniest color to work with in an embroidery! You´ve done great progress!
Thank you. With this Aida cloth I actually find the creams and wife’s the worst to do. At least there is a little bit of contrast with the white.
Enjoy the break and you could enjoy an end of page happy dance next time if you like 🙂
I sure hope I can!
This is not a race it is your hobby AJ, so take you time and enjoy. Its a beautiful project from what I see but I have learnt from experience that if you are not enjoying stitching then you will be more likely to put it down. I have a cupboard full of unfinished projects because I was in to much of a rush to actually slow down and enjoy the journey. This group is so great and supportive so make the most of it. xx
That is great advice and I will keep it in mind. Thank you!
