I started a cross stitch many moons ago and this stitch a long has really been helping me get it done. This week I learned a second thing that would help me get it done- having a set up area. I was complaining to my mom that I never seem to stitch because I have to spread out my threads, hoop up, make space, etc. she reminded me that I live alone so why don’t I just leave an area set up. I’ve learned that the older I get, the smarter my mom is, so I took her advice, and… it worked! I have found myself sitting down more often to stitch because it’s there and ready!

Here is where I was on my Paula Vaughn- Quilts through the Seasons last time:

I am doing January and here is where I am now:

There is a rather large mistake in it. I am wondering if you can tell where it is. I don’t think I’m going to fix it, but am wondering how noticeable it is.

Make sure you check out everyone else’s progress as there are some amazing stitchers on here!

  1. I might see it, but only because I was looking for it! If it is the red, I would just stitch over it with the gray, if you think it’s noticeable when finished. If there was a miscount on the roof line, I would just add a half cross to smooth things out a bit. I’ve done both multiple times, including in my current project. 😁

  2. I can’t see it either. However I agree with Avis ~ if it bothers you then try Kathy’s suggestion. I am enjoying watching the image develop over the weeks.

  3. Fantastic idea from your mom! I agree, having a designated craft space definitely makes it easier to make more progress 🙂
