I started a cross stitch many moons ago and this stitch a long has really been helping me get it done. This week I learned a second thing that would help me get it done- having a set up area. I was complaining to my mom that I never seem to stitch because I have to spread out my threads, hoop up, make space, etc. she reminded me that I live alone so why don’t I just leave an area set up. I’ve learned that the older I get, the smarter my mom is, so I took her advice, and… it worked! I have found myself sitting down more often to stitch because it’s there and ready!
Here is where I was on my Paula Vaughn- Quilts through the Seasons last time:

I am doing January and here is where I am now:

There is a rather large mistake in it. I am wondering if you can tell where it is. I don’t think I’m going to fix it, but am wondering how noticeable it is.
Make sure you check out everyone else’s progress as there are some amazing stitchers on here!
Avis, Claire, Gun, Constanze, Christina, Kathy, Margaret, Cindy, Heidi, Jackie, Sunny, Megan, Deborah, Renee, Carmela, Sharon, Daisy, Anne, AJ, Cathie, Linda, Helen
I might see it, but only because I was looking for it! If it is the red, I would just stitch over it with the gray, if you think it’s noticeable when finished. If there was a miscount on the roof line, I would just add a half cross to smooth things out a bit. I’ve done both multiple times, including in my current project. 😁
You have made excellent progress, AJ!
Thank you- it felt great to see visible progress!
I just feel like I have so many mistakes in this project:(
I can’t see it but if it bothers you I’d do as Kathy suggested.
I think it looks great! Can´t see any mistake. Great progress!!!
I can’t see any mistakes ^^
Oh good:)
I don’t see it and I want to live in that house 🙂
Yes wouldn’t it be lovely!
Of course we can’t see the mistake in the photos, silly. All I see is beautiful stitching.
Oh thank you
Making great progress! Glad you still have your mom around to give you words of wisdom 🤣
Yup I’m very thankful for her
I can’t see it either. However I agree with Avis ~ if it bothers you then try Kathy’s suggestion. I am enjoying watching the image develop over the weeks.
So am I!
Fantastic idea from your mom! I agree, having a designated craft space definitely makes it easier to make more progress 🙂
It really does as I can now sit down for just a couple of stitches
Yay, well done mum! It is looking great and I can’t see a mistake.
That is going to be so pretty!
Thank you
Love the line – the older I get, the smarter my mom gets ….:)
I write about slice of life musings from every day life too – am sharing the link. Hope you like them
